Private instruction, small groups and immersive international retreats led by Rebecca Penrose since 2002 — the whole system of yoga, taught in person: breath, movement, attention, philosophy and rest, shaped patiently around the body and the life you actually have.

I first discovered yoga in my early twenties. Travelling through Asia, and India in particular, turned curiosity into a lifelong study of the tradition and its teachings.
In 2002 I completed my first teacher training and began teaching in Bali, Indonesia. Following traditional lineage teachings, I then apprenticed through retreats and teacher trainings for roughly ten years, deepening my understanding of practice, philosophy and instruction before shaping a teaching voice of my own.
Since then I have taught across Indonesia through private instruction, group classes and retreats, and in studios, luxury hotels and schools: Green School in Bali, Inspya Yoga retreats and trainings across Asia, The Yoga Barn, COMO Shambhala Estate, COMO Uma Ubud, Begawan Giri, Balispirit Yoga Studio and Indus Yoga Studio. Alongside teaching, I coordinated retreats for Inspya Yoga and created the yoga wear label remember to BREATHE and the yoga gear line basicequipment.
My focus has always been the whole system of yoga: breath, movement, attention, philosophy and rest, held together rather than pulled apart. Working one to one and with small groups lets me specialise the teaching around each practitioner's interests, health needs and stage of life, so that what happens on the mat becomes a sustainable practice of their own. Some students come for strength, some for recovery, some simply for a quieter mind, and the practice is shaped to meet whichever of those they arrive with.

The heart of the practice
“Breathe first. The posture, the strength and the stillness all follow.”
Rebecca Penrose · remember to BREATHE · Bali, Indonesia
Yoga instruction for private clients, small groups and retreats. The focus is the practice as a whole, not only the exercise, which means each session can be customised to the interests and needs of the people in the room.

Practices built around your goals, health needs and personal movement journey.

Intimate sessions with shared energy, deep alignment focus and personal attention.

Wellness workshops and guest experiences for boutique hotels and institutions.
Whether you are entirely new to yoga or returning after years away, we begin where you are and build something steady, honest and yours.
Each retreat is hosted in a landscape that does half the teaching for me. Days follow a simple rhythm of practice, meditation, nourishment and long open hours, with room for the place itself.

Groups are kept intentionally small so that each practitioner receives real attention. Dates are shared first with private and small group students, so do write ahead if you would like to be told when the next retreat opens.
Hear how the practice has changed lives, mentally, physically and spiritually.

“I came to Rebecca with years of lower back pain and very little faith in my own body. Within a few months of private sessions I was stronger, steadier and, for the first time, practising on my own at home.”
